To empower orphaned and vulnerable teenage girls to become healthy, educated and self-reliant, thus breaking the cycle of poverty in their lives and in the communities in which they live.
Our mission is working with teenage girls who are orphaned or find themselves in vulnerable positions. We strive to encourage, educate, and empower them through the work of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We seek to help these girls by encouraging them in the truth that everyone is created in God’s image and therefore have immense value. Educating and equipping these girls will transform their lives from day- to-day survival to a life that flourishes and thrives with new purpose. As we empower these girls to grow into the young women God has created them to be, it will change their future and allow them a new beginning, preparing them to come alongside others in similar life circumstances. Our prayer is these girls will not only impact their community, but the world.
We value unconditional love, compassion, authenticity, transparency, fighting against injustice, meeting the needs of the poor, and dignity for all.
To provide a safe home in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where orphaned and vulnerable girls can be educated, learn life skills, and be taught self-worth through training and discipleship through local leaders and entities.
According to UNICEF, there are 4.5 million orphans in Ethiopia. The leading causes of orphaned children are HIV AIDS, untreated illnesses, famine, drought and war. More than 80 percent of Ethiopians live on less than a dollar a day. In Ethiopia’s capital city of Addis Ababa alone, more than 30 percent of teenage girls are not living with a parent. These girls are vulnerable to exploitation or abuse, and typically have no legal or social support.
