Congratulations! You have been selected to serve on the 2025-2026 Addis Jemari Teen Board!

Our Teen Board:

  • Promotes the mission of Addis Jemari
  • Supports projects that directly impact programs in Ethiopia
  • Gains insight into Ethiopian culture and our work
  • Builds leadership and teamwork skills
  • Assists with AJ events and initiatives
  • Takes an active role in creating change

By accepting this position, you are promising to:

  • Respond to AJ Teen Board correspondence in a timely fashion (within 48 hours)
  • Attend at least three out of four meetings a year
  • Volunteer for at least 10 hours with Addis Jemari throughout the year at events, workgroups, or through special projects (quarterly meetings do not count towards the 10 hours)
  • Help plan and participate in three Teen Board events/fundraisers/initiatives each school year (BBQ & Baskets event, Christmas in Ethiopia campaign, and Summer Camp Curriculum project) in a meaningful way.
  • Have access to transportation to attend meetings in North Raleigh for quarterly meetings and any workgroups you sign up to participate in (Zoom is not an option for quarterly meetings, must be present in person)
  • Each quarterly meeting (roughly September, December, February, and May) will have two opportunities to attend. This means we will hold each quarterly meeting twice, giving two different dates/times to attend to better accommodate schedules. Those meetings will always be held on a Sunday or Monday. If you know you can never attend a meeting on a Sunday or Monday, then please reconsider your ability to participate in the Teen Board.
*Note: Failure to meet these commitments may make you ineligible to reapply in the future or request recommendation letters or references from Addis Jemari.

Please email your headshot to Suzanne Ward by Friday, July 31, 2025  suzanne.ward@addisjemari.org. This will be for the social media announcement of the newest Teen Board.
