Today’s #BetterTogether message comes from our cook, Messi, at the AJ House in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She is so much more than a cook to us. Messi demonstrates one of our five core values, life skills, on a daily basis. She teaches the #AJGirls kitchen skills, how to prepare for holiday celebrations, how to stick to a budget, and the importance of meal planning. Messi also teaches our girls that cooking nutritious meals is vital for keeping them healthy and whole, and that the skills she teaches in the kitchen can be used by our AJ girls to provide for their own families in the future.
