In November 2018, one of our founders, Suzanne Shoaf Ward, donated her 40th birthday to Addis Jemari. Suzanne’s goal was to raise enough money for a generator that was needed by the #AJhome, and here it is! Thank you all so much for your donations and love. This generator enables our home to keep running efficiently and effectively during power outages. Power outages are a typical way of life in Ethiopia, and really can impede on the day-to-day happenings. When the lights go out, the generator will ensure our girls have a well-lit house to keep up with their studies. Cooking and preparation of meals for the girls and staff can continue on with no interruptions. In short, it will help us in many areas and it happened because of the generosity shown by many of you.
