The residents of Akaky Kaliti, where our FEP families are from, are generally factory workers, daily laborers, people working in urban agriculture, civil servants, military personnel, as well as unemployed youth and women, etc. While there are many factories in this area, most people cannot obtain factory jobs due to lack of proper education or training that is needed. The lack of long-term job opportunities creates an environment where many are living hand to mouth on less than $2 a day. Our goal is to help our families become sustainable.
