We believe in long-term transformation. When mothers graduate from our Family Empowerment Program (FEP), they leave with the tools to build sustainable businesses, support their families, and secure a brighter future. But what happens after they graduate?
Meet Belaynesh, a widowed mother of four who graduated from FEP in 2022. Through the program, she received training, financial literacy support, and counseling, helping her navigate life’s challenges.
Belaynesh’s household income doubled from 1,500 birr to 3,000 birr per month.
She started an Income Generating Activity (IGA) business and later transitioned to factory work to sustain her family.
One of her children is now enrolled in university!
“The parental training support I received helped me raise my children,” Belaynesh shared.
But challenges remain. Belaynesh struggles to afford community-based health insurance, and one of her children requires ongoing medical attention for a heart condition. Despite these hardships, she remains determined.
“The lessons I got here at AJ make me who I am today.”
