Last week our AJ Girls and staff enjoyed working together as a family, which is a common Ethiopian tradition, to prepare the New Year’s Day feast. A lot of work (and fun) went into making the traditional Ethiopian New Year’s dishes such as sheep (beg), chicken stew (doro wat) and traditional holiday bread (difo dabo).
We are grateful for these special moments as they provide the opportunity for all to witness the impact Addis Jemari has had on the girls in our home. One of the girls shared with us this: “I had the best day and loved all of us working together as a family for the holiday.” ❤️
