Community involvement allows for positive change through collaboration, while meeting the needs of the local community. It can expand resources which allow for more impact and brings people together towards a common goal. We believe it that here at AJ.
In March, the AJ girls along with our staff had the privilege of going and being a part of a local tutoring session given for the children in the area of Korah. These are students who need extra help to succeed in the classroom. We all know a student like that or maybe we were that student at one time. It was encouraging for us all and a fun change for the students. There is great value in that.. we can help by encouraging one another!
We wrapped up our fun afternoon with ice cream before heading back. As we shared our yummy ice cream, we pondered questions like…”What can you be doing to change your community?” “Where can you start today? “Can you make a difference in the lives of those around you?” We decided that the answer was YES and that we can all do something. God gave us community for a purpose. We are excited to use these questions as we plan for our summer break. The future looks bright!
