Our vision at Addis Jemari is to create lasting solutions and foster transformation in the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in Ethiopia, thus breaking the cycle of generational poverty. What do we mean by generational poverty? It is much more than a daily lack of provisions of food, shelter, health care. There is also a lack of hope, a difference in values that are shared among families due to generations of living hand to mouth, and the lack of planning for the future. This is where our five core values come into play. It is Addis Jemari’s belief that through education, discipleship, financial literacy, life skills, and community involvement, we can empower those affected by generational poverty with hope.
