2023 was a significant year for our efforts in Ethiopia, thanks to our donors and champions! Here are a few highlights of what the support we received from you allowed Addis Jemari to accomplish during the year:
AJ Home
- We welcomed two new girls, reaching our capacity.
- Two girls transitioned to semi-independent living, increasing their count to three.
- Despite a medical condition, one girl experiencing semi-independent living has shown remarkable progress and has thrived living on her own, showing much growth in her education, social life, and psychological well-being.
- All six girls at the AJ Home advanced to their next school grade.
Family Empowerment Program (FEP)
- 50 FEP mothers underwent essential training in literacy, financial literacy, and parenting.
- A new psychotherapist joined our team, providing crucial support to our beneficiaries.
- We initiated the Backpack Buddy program, addressing food insecurity by ensuring children have meals at home when away from our Center.
- Youth clubs were formed, offering teenagers a platform to discuss shared experiences and receive guidance and discipleship.
- Beneficiary mothers have formed supportive social bonds, extending the program’s impact.
We look forward to continuing this journey in 2024. Pray with us as we continue to empower orphaned and vulnerable children and families in Ethiopia to break the cycle of generational poverty.
