Meet Fana and Dinke, two of the 50 mothers in our Family Empowerment Program (FEP).
Fana, mother of three, single parent Dinke, mother of three, single parent
Both Fana and Dinke are single mothers, each with three beautiful children. They are teaming up on their Income Generating Activity with a plan to make and sell injera (an Ethiopian food staple made of teff flour). They are both amazing women and inspiring mothers who are working hard to change the cycle of generational poverty in their lives.
The Income Generating Activity is a key component of our Family Empowerment Program and includes training, resources, and interventions we provide to help families increase their household income — with the ultimate goal of becoming self-reliant.
As of today, Fana and Dinke have completed a market assessment and identified a shortage of injera delivery in their community. They will use their existing knowledge of this business, combined with what they have learned in the Family Empowerment Program and food processing training to launch this business to serve their community and improve their families’ lives.
Would you join us on this Giving Tuesday by investing in these women entrepreneurs? Our goal is to raise $15,000 today to help them and our other 48 FEP mothers receive the startup funding they need to get their business off the ground.
Your donation will make a difference in their lives and the lives of their six children! Please visit https://addisjemari.org/yearend2021 and make your life-changing donation today!
