Before joining the program, she faced immense challenges—struggling with financial instability, emotional hardships, and the isolation of raising her children alone.
Beletu shared, “I felt isolated and lonely, but now I have built connections with others and no longer feel alone. I can now support myself and contribute positively to my community.”
Through the program’s training, Beletu learned money management and began her own injera (a pancake-like flatbread) business.
Initially overwhelmed by the cost of living, she started small, selling 15 injera on her first day. Her success grew quickly, and now she is focused on increasing her supply to meet demand. “I never believed I would be capable of having my job or running a business,” she said.
The impact of Addis Jemari’s holistic support has extended to Beletu’s children as well. With counseling and education, her eldest daughter overcame emotional struggles and is now thriving.
This mother’s home, once unstable, now provides shelter and comfort after receiving support to repair her roof. “Addis Jemari has given my life and my children a fresh start. I can hardly express how much you have helped me,” she shared.
