Fetiya is the first mother in our Family Empowerment Program (FEP) to establish a chicken farming business.
With startup funding and resources from Addis Jemari, Fetiya purchased a cage with a 25-chicken capacity and began her poultry venture.
Selling an average of 20 eggs per day to her neighbors, Fetiya’s business has become a crucial source of income for her family.
Despite challenges like the rainy season affecting her chickens, Fetiya’s hard work and determination keep her focused on improving and expanding her farm.
Recently, in a touching moment of gratitude, Fetiya presented 15 eggs to the Addis Jemari team as a token of appreciation for the support she’s received.
She shared, “Even though the chickens have a difficult time during the rainy season, I am training to work hard to help them get through it so they may be more fruitful next season.”
Stories like Fetiya’s show how your generosity empowers women to build sustainable futures and care for their families.
