Addis Jemari recognizes the value of partnership with like-minded organizations and foundations, and we are so grateful for Charlie’s Heart Foundation!
Charlie’s Heart Foundation (CHF) first traveled with us to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in July 2017 to see firsthand the work we do with orphaned and vulnerable children. CHF’s mission is to enhance the lives of children and families in areas of need through sustainable living, financial and health education to ultimately ensure they are prepared for their lives ahead.
CHF’s mission perfectly aligns with what Addis Jemari is seeking to accomplish through its Family Empowerment Program (FEP). AJ is so grateful to its friends at CHF as they are a huge financial supporter of its Family Empowerment Program since March 2018. Addis Jemari comes alongside families in Ethiopia living in impoverished conditions who are struggling to fulfill daily needs, and we encourage, educate and empower them with tools and resources to become sustainable and stay together as a family unit.
We cannot thank enough Rebecca and Michael Holt, who are the founders of Charlie’s Heart Foundation, for believing in this program. Michael and Rebecca Holt are such champions of helping those in need and we are grateful for their hearts and mindsets.
Rebecca Holt, founder and Executive Director of Charlie’s Heart Foundation said, “If we want to facilitate change, we have to invest in people, not try to fix it for them. Helping someone to live a better life comes with offering them the right tools to change their own situation. Access to education, healthcare, job skills, and financial literacy are the foundation for helping people, families, and communities to help themselves.”
Michael Holt, founder and Finance and Compliance Director for CHF said, “Through CHF’s partnership with AJ, we are able to focus our time and resources on those in need since AJ already had the staff and organization in Ethiopia set up. Because at the end of the day, what matters is not who gets credit for helping those in need, it’s that those in need received the help.”
